Katya Ovechkina
Katya Ovechkina is a visual artist living and working in Vienna and pursuing a degree at the Kunstuniversität Linz, class of Prof. Anne Speier. Working across painting, graphic, text, and ceramics, she observes, waits, and listens, allowing narratives to emerge. She is dealing with past and present, trauma and irony, finding joy in failures and poetry in the mundane. With an immigrant background, she’s constantly seeking ways to exist in uncertain times, exploring themes like family bonds, memory, home, and different forms of homelessness.
Ovechkina’s works have been recently shown at Parallel Vienna, Queer Museum Vienna, Maerz Gallery Linz, BestOff, with recent solo exhibition at Casa Carlotta, Italy.
