Practices of (non)presence
Art Exhibition 3-5 July in Garage Grande.

Slime molds don't need validation. They just go on growing, searching, recombining.
Exhibition
How do we manifest in a world where the rules were written not by us, and not for us? How do we exist, in relation to others?

We want to share fragments of what the past few years have brought us, and to invite everyone interested into a conversation about the practices of life and art.

Here is one way to describe what is happening here: We move across the surface of context, leaving invisible traces - a soft topography of mutual contact. Our connections are spontaneous, decentralized, like the web of a plasmodium, flaring up wherever there is presence,
where someone breathes nearby.

This presence is always temporary, shifting, fragile.
It cannot be captured, it grows.
It disappears, only to return in a different form.

This exhibition is our practice of (non)presence. In creating art, we shed the identities imposed on us
and step beyond the context that events and places try to inscribe us into. Let this space become an archive of movement, a living map of the terrain where we have been,
and where, for now, we still are.

You can find us and the exhibition from June 3rd to 5th at Garage Grande (Deinhardsteingasse 12, 1160).

Zine Presentation
"Aviculture and the Absence (of Upbringing)" is a collection of childhood memories, notes on the (im)possibility of closeness, attempts to preserve traces of imperialism, reflections on foxes and chickens — all of which come together as one of the ways of existing that, for simplicity, I call myself. — Sasha Skorykh.

Clothes swap and upcycling
Let’s gather the clothes we no longer wear. Too small, too big, too full of memories. The ones that don’t feel like us anymore. We’ll swap, share, and reshape. Cut, stitch, combine, transform, give fabric a second breath. We invite you to let go, to reimagine, to take someone else’s shirt and turn it into a new story. Led by Kondraty Hvatit and Katya Ovechkina.

Writing workshop
I invite you to spend an hour and a half in the affect of writing — to create short texts about sexuality or embodiment, or maybe about social frameworks? Practically speaking, we’ll do creative writing exercises to enter a writing state, to reflect on what’s happening to us and the world around us. Perhaps someone will even be able to write a short story.

I invite all writers — beginners and experienced — and everyone interested in the Text.

Elena Fofanova - writer, poet, and researcher of homelessness. She graduated from the Faculty of History and the Faculty of Human Rights. She teaches Russian as a foreign language and creative writing.
